  1. In order to strengthen occupational and environmental health and safety, the Centre for Occupational & Environmental Health (COEH)has/ had collaboration with following centres of excellence:
    • University of California, Berkeley 2. University of California, San Francisco
    • University of Queens land, Australia
    • Collegium Ramazzini Drexel University, school of Public health, Philadelphia
    • International Agencies such as WHO, ILO etc.
       
  2. Organized National Conferences and workshop training hundreds of health and safety professionals, scientists and others on:
    • Continuing medical education in Occupational and Environmental Health
    • Risk assessment and management of workplace hazards
    • Noise induced hearing loss in workplace
    • Industrial Hygiene Practices.
    • Health hazards in specific industries: e.g., Cold storages, Health Care Workers etc.
       
  3. Organized and shared experiences in 30 National and International conferences on:
    • Preventing chemical accidents
    • Environmental Epidemiology and Public Health Protection
    • Health hazards of Asbestos
    • Bio-Medical Waste management, including treatment and handling
  4. Provided expertise to Master of Industrial Hygiene & Safety course, Sardar Patel University, India which started India’s first course in collaboration with the Cincinnati University, USA. Teaching Assignments:
    • Teaching postgraduate physicians/students at National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, GOI.
       
  5. Provided expert services on environmental health and safety to:
    • Central TB Division, DGHS, GOI
    • World bank
    • WHO
    • Consumer Association of Penang, Malaysia
    • Punjab Haryana Delhi Chambers of Commerce and Industry,
    • Confederation of Indian Industry
    • ASSOCHAM, o Indian Association of Occupational Health,
    • Toxics Links
    • IDC and many others.
       
  6. Assessment and supervision of:
    • Bio-Medical Waste Management in scores of healthcare establishments in Delhi – on going activity.
      1. Conducted more than 225 training programme since 1998 December on Bio-Medical Waste Management for Health Care Workers of Delhi, other places and nearly 7000 Health Care Workers have been trained so far.
      2. Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health is one of the few organizations in India, which have expertise in Environmental Health. It has shared this expertise with the union ministry of health and family welfare, government of India in developing protocols on environmental health and safety in food and drug testing laboratories.
      3. The centre has published its research work in leading international and national journals such as International journal of Occupational and environmental health, European Journal of Oncology, and others.
