The OPD services are available daily from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. along with other OPDs. 70-80 major and minor dressings of operated Burns and Plastic Surgical cases from wards as well as OPD are done daily in the minor OT attached to the Plastic Surgery ward. All burn patients admitted to the Burns ward are dressed daily in dressing rooms attached to the ward. The minor OT is also used daily for operating on a number of patients under local anaesthesia. The major OT in New OT block and the Burn OT in Burn Ward-20 block caters to patients requiring general anaesthesia. All OT’s run six days a week. The department provides facilities for comprehensive burn care in acute stage as well as for the correction of various post burn deformities, contractures and scars.
The plastic surgical cases being treated are congenital deformities of head and neck e.g. cleft lip and palate, partial and total absence and other deformities of ear etc., congenital deformities of hand and external genitals e.g. hypospadias. Cancers of skin and head & neck are also treated and reconstruction done using various flaps and microsurgery. Injuries to face, facial bones, hand and lower limbs are also treated. The department also provides facilities for cosmetic surgery e.g. Rhinoplasty, Face lift, Correction of breast deformities (increase or decrease in size), reconstruction of breast after cancer, abdominoplasty, liposuction etc
