Achievements
Dr Siddhath Ramji
He has been recipient of several awards and orations. He was recipient of
Delhi State Health Award for Outstanding Contribution to Health (2015) and the DistinguishedAlumnus Award of Maulana Azad Medical College (2015). He had been expert member of Technicaland Advisory committees of the World Health Organization, ICMR, Department of Health Research,Department of Biotechnology, BIRAC, DST, UGC and Government of India on Research, innovations,and Health systems implementation.
He was actively involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of public healthsystems for neonatal and child health in India. He was a key member of all committees related tonewborn health in India’s national programmes starting with the Child Survival and SafeMotherhood program (CSSM) (when newborn health was first mainstreamed into India’s nationalhealth program) in 1992. He spearheaded the Operationalization of District Newborn care programfor the Ministry of Health, Government of India with WHO funding in 25 districts (1993-95) (theprecursor to the Facility based Newborn care at SNCUs and NBSUs).He also served as the Secretary of the National Neonatology Forum (1993-94) and President of theNational Neonatology Forum (2022).

- Gold Medal Award in category of Social Neonatology at the 36th Annual Convention of National Neonatology Forum (NNF) at Indore on 9th December 2016 for the research “Prediction of nutritive sucking in preterm babies (<34 weeks); an essential tool for optimal care of LBW babies” (Nisha Kumari, Ashish Jain, Ramji S)
- Best Paper (Innovation) award at 38th Annual Convention of National Neonatology Forum (NNF) at Varanasi (U.P) held on 14th to 16th December 2018 for “Innovative CPAP Nasal cannula for the Indian Babies, I-Prong”
