FACILITIES IN DEPARTMENT

  1. Inborn nursery consist of __ number of beds and outborn nursery have ___ number of warmer beds.
  2. Inborn nursery consist of __ number of ventilators and outborn nursery have ___ number of state of art ventilators with high frequency ventilation.
  3. Stand-alone CPAP & HHHFNC machines.
  4. Both units contains multipara monitors.
  5. We have 5 bedded KMC.
  6. 4 Newborn stabilization unit
  7. 2 bed newborn care corner in each delivery point.
  8. Cerebral function monitor.
  9. Point of care USG machine.
  10. Dedicated follow up and early intervention facilities for high risk newborns.

Achievements

Dr Siddhath Ramji

He has been recipient of several awards and orations. He was recipient of

Delhi State Health Award for Outstanding Contribution to Health (2015) and the DistinguishedAlumnus Award of Maulana Azad Medical College (2015). He had been expert member of Technicaland Advisory committees of the World Health Organization, ICMR, Department of Health Research,Department of Biotechnology, BIRAC, DST, UGC and Government of India on Research, innovations,and Health systems implementation.

He was actively involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of public healthsystems for neonatal and child health in India. He was a key member of all committees related tonewborn health in India’s national programmes starting with the Child Survival and SafeMotherhood program (CSSM) (when newborn health was first mainstreamed into India’s nationalhealth program) in 1992. He spearheaded the Operationalization of District Newborn care programfor the Ministry of Health, Government of India with WHO funding in 25 districts (1993-95) (theprecursor to the Facility based Newborn care at SNCUs and NBSUs).He also served as the Secretary of the National Neonatology Forum (1993-94) and President of theNational Neonatology Forum (2022).

Dr NB Mathur

He is the recipient of following research awards.

  1. SS Manchanda Award of Indian Academy of Pediatrics for Best Research in Neonatology, 1992
  2. Paper awarded NNF Gold Medal at the Annual Convention of NNF at Chandigarh 2004
  3. Paper awarded Social Neonatology NNF Gold Medal at the Annual Convention of NNF at Chandigarh 2004
  4. Paper awarded in 11th Asian Congress of Pediatrics Bangkok, Thailand 2-7 Nov 2003
  5. IJP best thesis award to MD student (Dr Amit Garg) guided
  6. PN Taneja award of IAP Delhi to papers of theses guided-twice including the latest in 2012.

Dr Ashish Jain

  1. Gold Medal Award in category of Social Neonatology at the 36th Annual Convention of National Neonatology Forum (NNF) at Indore on 9th December 2016 for the research “Prediction of nutritive sucking in preterm babies (<34 weeks); an essential tool for optimal care of LBW babies” (Nisha Kumari, Ashish Jain, Ramji S)
  2. Best Paper (Innovation) award at 38th Annual Convention of National Neonatology Forum (NNF) at Varanasi (U.P) held on 14th to 16th December 2018 for “Innovative CPAP Nasal cannula for the Indian Babies, I-Prong”
  3. Best Paper (Innovation) award at IX International Conference on Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) , 22nd to 25th November 2012 held at Ahmedabad , India
  4. NNF Gold Medal Award at the 39th Annual Convention of National Neonatology Forum (NNF) at Hyderabad on 14th December 2019 for the research paper “Preterm Birth Syndromes: Phenotypes and their association with neonatal outcomes” ( Somalika Pal , Ashish Jain* , Ramji S)

  1. Awarded NNF Gold Medal for Best Research Paper at NNF Neocon 2019 atHyderabad 14-17 Dec 2019 for research paper entitled ‘Preterm Birth Syndrome :Identifying different phenotypes and their association with neonatal outcomes
