OPD
We have daily OPD in OPD complex, room 520-522 5th floor OPD 9 A.M. to 1.30 P.M daily (except Sundays and declared holidays).  All patients under the Age of 12 years are examined and taken care of. Last year we examined nearly 15,000 patients in the OPD.

WARD
We have a sanctioned bed strength of 88 beds on the 5th floor of New Surgical Block. This includes post operative and neonatal intensive care beds ward. Our department works in close support with the pediatric medicine department when our post operative patients require intensive care / ventilation. We have acquired recently high tech equipment like Urodynamic machine, transport ventilators. Both the wards are manned round the clock by resident doctors and staff nurses. 

OT
All major pediatric surgical undertakings are performed in OT-3 daily. Emergency surgeries are done in central emergency OT of the hospital . Last year approximately 750 surgeries were done in the elective OT.

Thoracic surgeries
Major lung resections like lobectomies and pneumonectomies are routinely performed. Decortication for chronic empyema is performed with good results. Esophageal replacement surgery is also being done in our department. Adavnced therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures and thoracoscopies procedures are also done. Delhi's first thoracoscopic excision of esophageal duplication cyst has been performed in out department.

Urology
All reconstructive urological surgery is routinely performed. Bladder augmentations, ureteric reimplants, pyeloplasties, pyelolithotomies, nephrectomies are successfully performed with good results. Long segment urethral strictures are substituted with gut segments and all other types of urethroplasties are performed for urethral strictures. Hypospadias surgery has got exceptionally good success rates in our department. Procedures like posterior urethral valve fulgurations, and optical uretherotomy are also done. Laparoscopic urology is also ganing momentum. 

GI Surgery
EHBA, choledochal cyst, hepatic tumors, hepatic cysts, pancreatitis. Portal hypertension, abdominal tuberculosis, GI Tumors are routinely dealt with successfully.

Neonatal Surgery
These range from esophageal atresias, congenital diaphragmatic hernias, neonatal tumors, anorectal malformations, gut atresias, neonatal intestinal obstructions, perforations are all routinely performed.

Laparoscopic surgery
Ours is one of the busiest centers for this in northern India for laparocopic surgery in children. Hernia surgery is routinely through laparoscopy surgery for Hirschprung's disease, High imperforate anus, appendicectomy, ovarian cyst, cholecystectomy etc.

Emergency Surgeries
All types of emergency surgeries like trauma, peritonitis, obstructions are commonly performed with good results.Rigid bronchoscopy and esophagoscopy for foreign body is also done.

Department achievements:

1. Faculty members are invited to multiple national and international conferences and workshops as faculty.They also serve as reviewers and on on editorial board of prestigious journals.
2. Deptt. has produced multiple award winning papers.In the current year we have won awards including best paper in conference session,research awards and fellowship.
3. The two major research projects accomplished with international presentation and publication.
